Meet Our Horses
It takes a very special horse to be selected to participate in our lessons. Each of our horses has gone through specialized training to prepare them for lessons, yet they also each have their own personality and style that makes them unique and special to our students.

Angie
Owned by Melissa Bingham Angie, short for Angelina, is a 1988 Arabian mare who stands 14.2 hh. Prior to her current job at Saddle Pals, Angie was active in 4-H, general western riding, trail riding and as a kid's horse. Angie is honest and trustworthy for our beginner independent students just learning how to ride without a leader. She is a member of our show team and loves applesauce. |

CR
Owned by Sariah and Ryan Hathaway CR is a 1985 Appaloosa gelding who stands 15.0 hh. CR came to Saddle Pals after a lifelong career as a professional pack horse. CR is unflappable and slow-going for riders requiring less motion. CR is a member of our show team. |

Dudley
Owned by Tracy Gould and Lane Zorich Also known as Double Up Gold, Dudley is a 1990 Registered POA gelding standing 14.1 hh. Dudley was a show pony competing in western pleasure, gymkhana and English, as well as an experienced trail and hunting mount. Dudley's slow, even pace is great for new little riders. He is also used for independent riders and is a member of our show team. |

Niner
Owned by Saddle Pals, donated by Carol Sharon Niner is a 1983 Morgan mare standing 14.2 hh. Niner had a career as an able-bodied school horse until she began her new career at Saddle Pals. She has easy forward movement, making her a favorite for little independent riders. Niner is the most talkative of all the horses at Saddle Pals, greeting everyone with a nicker. |

Rio
Owned by Joanne Eastus Evans Also known as Malabar Mario, Rio is a 1982 Registered Arabian gelding who stands 14.3 hh. Prior to Saddle Pals, Rio was a successful show horse competing in native costume, country pleasure and trail. He was also a great babysitter for young horses. Rio's smooth, flowing gaits and high level of training make him a favorite to ride. |

Sandman
Owned by Cassandra Corum Sandman is a 1993 Arabian gelding who is 15.0 hh. Sandman's prior training is in dressage, trail riding and low jumps. Sandman is a sweet guy who is the favorite of many, as he has been with Saddle Pals since 2001. His favorite snack is Cheerios. |

Tex
Owned by Saddle Pals, donated by Stacey McGee Triple Business, "Tex," is a 1992 Registered American Quarter Horse gelding standing 15.1 hh. An all-around guy, Tex is well versed in roping, team penning (heading), trail riding, 4-H and teaching kids how to ride. His size and ability to build confidence in his riders make him a great asset to our program. Tex is a member of our show team. |

Tiny
Owned by Sariah and Ryan Hathaway Tiny is a 1996 Belgian Draft gelding who stands 15.3 hh. Tiny's past is unknown, as he was rescued by his previous owner. He had very little training when he came to Saddle Pals, but his size and temperament made him a great candidate. After a lengthy training period, Tiny is now a staple at our program, serving all sizes of riders. |

Buddy
Owned by Linda Palley Also known as Starfire Endeavor, Buddy is a 25-year-old Morgan gelding. His breeding is straight from the Justin Morgan line. He is known for his sweet temperament and his tendency to "talk" to everyone. He has lots of movement and has jumped, done dressage and been ridden on the trails. He loves all treats! |

Calli
Owned by Tom Stevenson Sweet Cal Lea, "Calli," is a 25- year-old American Quarter Horse mare, a dark blackish bay with a white blaze. She has had three foals and is well trained in working cattle, barrel-racing, gymkhana, hunter-jumper, parades and dressage. She is a patient teacher and can be ridden independently. She loves green apples but will not eat red apples. |

Chelsea
Owned by Saddle Pals A 15-year-old Halflinger mare, Chelsea is a golden chestnut color with a thick white mane and tail. She is sturdy for her small size and is a favorite with everyone at Saddle Pals because of her sweet, willing and kind disposition. She was used as a driving and riding horse as well as a brood mare and has had four foals. She likes carrots a lot! |

Jimmie
Owned by Melodi Mason Also known as Chickory's Gem Star, Jimmie is a flashy red roan 27-year-old Missouri Fox Trotter. This gelding has wonderful ground manners and is loved by everyone. As a gaited horse, his movement gives lots of action for his riders. His favorite treats are carrots. |

Solo
Owned by Saddle Pals Solo, short for Solovera, is an 18-year-old Morab gelding. He is a pretty bay color with a beautiful, long, thick black mane and tail. Known for his incredibly sweet temperament, he is sensitive and willing to move out as asked. He loves carrots and horse cookies. |

Winnie
Owned by Saddle Pals Winnie is an 11-year-old Halflinger gelding and is a pretty palomino color with a thick white mane and tail. He is known as our Pocket Pony. Winnie is always looking for attention by making funny faces and flapping his lips. He loves being the center of attention and is always calm, sturdy and consistent. |
