When Henry took the helm as president and CEO, SAFE had 130 employees, $142 million in assets, 40,000 members, and four branches. As the CEO of SAFE Credit Union, Henry has been a driving force behind significant contributions to education and innovation in the Greater Sacramento community.

Henry believes that successful organizations strive to create a learning culture, focus on meaningful issues, and make an impact in the communities they serve. Under his guidance, SAFE has expanded its community outreach year-over-year to increase the number of volunteer hours, technological resources, and sponsorship funding. As a business leader and as an engaged citizen, Henry’s support of educational programs has helped grow our region’s next generation of leaders.

Henry is one of the most actively involved Sacramento leaders that one will have the pleasure to meet, giving a great deal of his personal time and expertise to help local organizations prosper. He also encourages SAFE employees to volunteer and make a difference in the communities where they live and work.

Henry has served on the boards of a wide variety of local organizations, and his desire to serve others is an inspiration to his board, executive staff, employees, business associates, and neighbors.

Henry’s civic activities have included serving on various prominent boards including the public television station, KVIE Channel 6, including Past Chairman 2009–2011; a Trustee of the University of California, Davis Foundation; a Trustee of the RCA Fund of the Sacramento Regional Foundation; and a Chairman of the Board of the Sacramento Community Foundation. In addition, he has served on the Twin Rivers Unified School District Advisory Board, the NextEd Board, and the City Year Sacramento Board.

Among Henry’s greatest aspirations as CEO is his unwavering pursuit to help SAFE members improve their financial well-being so that they can enjoy life. Always accessible and present, Henry leads this charge daily through his leadership, his actions, and his words, most notably; “Always do the right thing for the right reasons.”
