Doug Bergman, President & CEO
Doug was named President/CEO of UCP of Greater Sacramento in March 2006. He oversees all organizational operations including fundraising, program development, community relations and program services. With more than 20 years of management experience, Doug’s focus is on leading UCP as it begins its second half-century of operations throughout Placer, El Dorado, Nevada, Yolo and Sacramento counties. Prior to joining UCP, Doug managed both retail and wholesale operations for ConocoPhillips in Northern California. Doug has a BS in administration from Ball State University with a double major in finance and management.

Tanya Hartle, Chief Operations Officer
Tanya joined the UCP team in August 1980. She started her career at UCP as an Instructor in our independent living program, CLASP. Tanya was quickly promoted and spent her first nine years with UCP as its Program Director. In 1990, Tanya accepted the position of Associate Director and now serves as Chief Operations Officer. Tanya has helped UCP fulfill its vision and has worked diligently to ensure that we remain focused on and committed to fulfilling the needs of our community and the people we serve.

Prior to joining UCP, Tanya taught in the special education department of the Bloomington Public School District in Bloomington, Minnesota. Tanya has a BS in speech pathology from Mankato State University and a teaching credential from the University of Minnesota.

Dainna McArthur, Chief Financial Officer
Dainna joined UCP in July 2006, bringing with her 20 years of progressive financial management experience. Dainna has a proven track record of financial management accounting, treasury and cash management, and mergers and acquisition experience with companies such as Signature Drywall, ConocoPhillips and Circle K Corporation. Prior to joining UCP, Dainna was Controller at Signature Drywall. Dainna earned her BS in accounting with emphasis in information systems from Sacramento State University.

Laurie Gwinn, Director of Human Resources
Laurie joined UCP in November 2007 as the Director of Human Resources. With more than 20 years of human resources managerial experience, Laurie’s experience includes the development and/or revamping of HR departments in both private and public sectors. In addition to managing core human resources functions, Laurie has focused on optimizing staff development, state and federal legal compliance and administering compensation and benefits programs. Laurie has served on boards for United Way, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and March of Dimes. She is an active member of the Sacramento Area Human Resources Association, volunteers at Women’s Empowerment and has a BS in business administration.

Steve Horton, Director of Marketing and Development
Steve joined the UCP team in January 2009 as the Director of Development and Marketing. Having served as Associate Executive Director of Development and Marketing at Stanford Home for Children for four years, and 14 years with the Canadian Cancer Society, his long nonprofit experience lends him a unique perspective as he develops new goals and strategies for UCP. Steve is a long-time member of the Sacramento Rotary Club, the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the National Committee on Planned Giving.
